I really enjoyed reading this story. The main character, Anthony Spencer is a wealthy businessman on the outside, but a broken man who is trapped by the events of his past on the inside. Cross Roads is a glimpse of Anthony’s inner world as he understands and confronts his past and reconciles his present.
Paul Young creates an environment for Anthony Spencer that allows him to see the spiritual reality behind the wreck of a life that he has created on his own. His understandings and misinterpretations of past events and the resulting walls that he built to cope are dismantled as he communicates with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As his perceptions of reality are corrected, he is changed into the person that he was created to be.
For those who point out that Cross Roads, like The Shack, is not a great textbook on the doctrine of the Trinity, I agree with you. However, it is an analogy; lighten up and enjoy it!
You’ll find Cross Roads difficult to put down. It is an engaging yet enlightening story that you’ll want to share with your friends.
